2020 Camp Update

Dear Camp Families,

After much study, prayer, and with heavy hearts, we have decided Weber’s Bulldog Basketball Camp cannot operate for the 2020 Summer Season. At the heart of this decision is the safety of our campers, staff and their families. We care too deeply for all of you to risk opening for camp operations this summer, which would have marked the 24 th year for Weber’s Bulldog Basketball camp.

No one is more disappointed about this decision than myself and my own family. My 10-year old son has been living and breathing basketball every minute of each day for the past year and it pains me to think of him being home, playing NBA2k20 for the entire month of July instead of actually playing real basketball and working hard to try and get his team to the ACC Championship game every single Friday.

We have closely followed information put out by the CDC and studied our Governor’s plan for reopening Maryland to help inform this decision. Our goal has always been to make camp an enjoyable experience for all. Unfortunately, the game of basketball requires children to be in close proximity and share equipment.

Weber’s Bulldog Basketball Camp is committed to refunding all balances and deposits paid through the AACS portal and The Edge Training Academy’s website. I have been assured those refunds will begin processing very soon from both parties. We appreciate your understanding and patience in awaiting confirmation of this process.

We will now move forward in planning for the summer of 2021. We do want to stay connected with you and your families this summer, so please look for updates on our website and social media platforms.   Thank you for the trust you have given us and for your constant support.

We know that you and your families voted us, “Best Sports Camp” in the Annapolis area in 2018 & 2019, and we really appreciate the accolades. No doubt that we would have met your expectations, once again, this summer.

We can’t wait to see you all next year and to see the progress each and every one of you has made! Please stay safe, stay active and keep enjoying the game of basketball!

Yours Truly,   Bill Weber Weber’s Bulldog Basketball Camp, Owner

Coach Weber’s Final Four team honored

Tom Finnegan and Final 4 teamCHESTERTOWN — One of Coach Bill Weber’s greatest college-playing basketball achievements was being a part of the 1990 Washington College Division III Final Four team. Hailed by many as the greatest team in the school’s history, Weber’s Bulldog Basketball Coach Darren Vican was also a freshman member of this elite squad, which made history as being the first NCAA basketball team in the state of Maryland to reach the Final Four round of any NCAA division tournament.

On January 25th, Washington College hosted, “Basketball Alumni Day” and most of the 1989-90 record-setting team was present (including Weber and Vican) for a half-time reception at the Cain Athletic Center honoring Coach Tom Finnegan and the team for their now-thirty-year-old feat. Washington went on to finish third in NCAA Division III that year, scoring an 87-86 victory over Calvin in the national consolation game.

Coach Weber said the experience of playing a Final Four game in front of a home crowd of over 1,000 in a huge come-from-behind tournament game is something he will never forget.
